| The advent of sequels to successful comedies is one genre that has generated lots of optimism among filmmakers and its prospective viewers. After the smash-hit success of PHIR HERA PHERI, all eyes are set on highly awaited GOLMAAL RETURNS, sequel to GOLMAAL. After Vishal-Shekhar musical hullabaloo in the prequel, Pritam is the ''chosen one'' for this costly warfare that boasts array of A-list actors in its credits. It's been cake-walk for Pritam so far with four back-to back chartbusting albums but KIDNAP has all together stopped his dream run of success. GOLMAAL RETURNS is one tight spot that can really set the ball rolling again for him but does it match up to his gargantuan success standards. The inclusion of another prodigal composer Ashiesh Pandit is promising but does his flair matches up to the fire of Chirantan Bhatt (MISSION ISTANBUL) or Gourav Dasgupta (SUMMER 2007). Do find these out in an album that guarantees unlimited frothy comical entertainment with its hi-profile star cast. | |

DOSTANA Director :Tarun Mansukhani Music :Vishal-Shekhar Lyrics : Kumaar , Anvita Dutt Guptan and Vishal Dadlani Vocal : Amanat Ali, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani |
| Vishal Shekhar gave us 'Lucky Boy' and 'Small Town girl' in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' and now they bring for us, 'Desi Girl'. The title couldn't be more right as the song is infused with all the traditional musical instruments like 'dhol', 'tabla' and 'harmonium'. The rhythm is reminiscent of Dharmendra's 'Jat Yamla', although certainly not derived or copied. The song is a treat as the superb fusion of Western and 'desi' rhythm is absolutely lethal. Shankar Mahadevan is a class apart and imparts his own touch and uniqueness to the song. His enthusiasm and energy comes through and one does not have to be a Nostradamus to predict that the song is bound to be a surefire chart buster (specially in the Overseas, where it is more relevant), what with the two handsome hunks, John and Abhishek grooving to the beat with the ravishing Priyanka Chopra. The lyricist Kumaar provides the perfect background with a superb intermingling of Hindi and a sprinkling of English. The highlight of the track are its lyrics, "Dekhi lakh lakh pardesi girl, There is no one like my desi girl." | |
